The 280 Hours Journey
Getting a bachelor’s degree or programs in college are the main thing when we talk about studies and our future. Little did we know that as time goes by, more skill sets are needed on the real world. The 10 years basic education in the Philippines are not enough that is why we have to be thankful that K-12 curriculum has been implemented in our country. With this, we can already be competent enough to be recognized by the countries all over the world.
“Likas sa mga Pilipino ang pagiging malikhain at magaling sa lahat ng bagay”.
Filipinos are recognized not only by the talent each of us possesses but also of the fact that we are in-demand in all sort of jobs you could possibly imagine out there. The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority is one of the most useful government offices in the country because every person is given the chance to enroll free program especially those that do not have the capacity to study in college.
Enough opportunities has been given by TESDA all over the country. This is the reason why I am thankful enough that I have seen its importance and how I could use it as a Computer Engineer. Surigao del Norte TESDA is highly commendable to its performance because I have a lot of friends already recognizing TESDA’s efforts of giving scholarships and assistance to people in remote areas.
My journey as scholar for Computer Systems Servicing NCII has been overwhelming. Big thanks to the OIC Provincial Director of TESDA sir Allan Millan for accommodating us especially during times that we visited his office (Pa snakon pa gyud kami). To sir John Paul Manungas, CCNA (Sige ra smile ug waya jud mureklamo sa amo hamok na mga pangutana) our trainor for the core competencies. Ma’am Tata Dalagan (Grabe ka buotan gajod!) for being approachable and hands-on in assisting us with the requirements.
Moreover, I would like to thank the ICT staff, sir Pastor, sir July, sir Navallo and sir Charlton (Tanan sab jaoy trip puro mga comedian! haha) for giving us preparatory courses before our core competency lectures.
Allow me to share my experiences:
It started with training:
With hands-on staff of St. Paul University Surigao
After assessment, see the bright smiles of each passer.
Of course, never forget the people behind your success!
At the office of Provincial Director (Kami naman nua an tagpa snack! Marajaw gajod si sir P.D.)
And the ICT staff for all the knowledge shared to us.
We pray and hope that TESDA Surigao del Norte in partnership with St. Paul University Surigao shall produce more competent individuals! Thank you so much!!!
